Job Description:
We are hiring a senior MongoDB Database Administrator to design, implement, and support MongoDB Replica Set environments in production.
You will manage database performance tuning, indexing strategy, and query optimization, monitor database health, replication status, and storage utilization, and plan backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to keep systems secure and recovery-ready.
This role also requires you to troubleshoot complex production incidents, perform root cause analysis, support MongoDB deployments in AWS, Azure, or GCP, implement security controls such as RBAC, authentication, and encryption basics, and automate routine DBA activities through scripting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and provide guidance to junior DBAs when needed.
Job Requirements:
- 7+ years of database administration experience
- Minimum 4+ years hands-on MongoDB production support
- Strong experience managing MongoDB Replica Sets
- Experience in performance tuning and query optimization
- Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery processes
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Scripting knowledge in Shell, Python, or similar
- Experience supporting MongoDB Atlas or cloud-hosted MongoDB
- Exposure to MongoDB Sharding is an advantage
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or enterprise platforms is preferred
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Atlas, Grafana, PMM, CloudWatch, or similar
