We’re looking for an experienced IBM Storage Specialist to lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise storage systems using IBM SVC, Spectrum Virtualize, and the full IBM Spectrum Suite. This is your chance to take charge of mission-critical data storage, performance tuning, and hybrid cloud integration within a fast-paced consulting environment.
🎯 Key Responsibilities:
💾 Storage Administration:
• Manage & configure IBM SVC and Spectrum Virtualize
• Handle provisioning, volume creation, and data migrations
• Apply compression, deduplication, and thin provisioning features
⚙️ Performance Optimization:
• Analyze I/O metrics using Spectrum Control
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and ensure uptime
🛡️ Data Protection & Disaster Recovery:
• Manage Spectrum Protect for backup and recovery
• Implement snapshots, replication, and stretched clusters
☁️ Hybrid Cloud Integration:
• Support Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud
• Enable data mobility across hybrid environments
📊 Monitoring & Reporting:
• Use IBM Spectrum Control for alerts & reporting
• Generate reports for capacity planning and storage health
🔐 Security & Compliance:
• Ensure encryption, secure access, and regulatory compliance
🧩 Collaboration & Documentation:
• Work with cross-functional teams (network, DB, app)
• Document configurations and architecture for knowledge sharing
✅ Required Skills & Qualifications:
🔧 Technical Must-Haves:
✔️ Strong hands-on experience in IBM SVC, Spectrum Virtualize
✔️ Proficiency in IBM Spectrum Suite:
• Spectrum Scale (GPFS)
• Spectrum Protect
• Spectrum Control
• Spectrum Archive
✔️ SAN architecture (FC, iSCSI, NVMe) knowledge
✔️ Familiar with hybrid cloud storage integration
✔️ Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Shell
🎓 Preferred Certifications:
⭐ IBM Certified Specialist – Spectrum Storage Solutions
⭐ IBM Certified Administrator – SVC or Spectrum Protect
💬 Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication & teamwork
