Job Description:
We are hiring a COBOL Developer (Mainframe) for the banking industry to support and strengthen core systems that cannot afford to fail.
In this role, you will develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based mainframe applications that sit at the heart of daily banking operations. You will ensure batch jobs and online transactions run reliably, support system integration across internal and external platforms, and carry out unit, integration, and regression testing to protect system quality.
You will also troubleshoot production issues in real-time environments, work closely with business stakeholders to turn requirements into practical solutions, optimize performance for efficiency and scalability, and maintain proper documentation while following IT standards and compliance requirements. You will be part of ongoing improvement efforts where stability matters just as much as progress.
Job Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, and VSAM
- Proven experience in mainframe system integration
- Strong ability in performance optimization and production issue troubleshooting
- Good understanding of banking systems and transaction processing
- Comfortable working in high-stakes, mission-critical environments
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders
