The Opportunity
You’ll support and optimize enterprise database environments across:
SQL Server (2016/2019)
PostgreSQL
Oracle (install/config + HA exposure)
You’ll automate, reduce noise, enforce backup discipline, and keep outages short (and rare).
Must-Have (Key Skills)
Extensive working knowledge of SQL Server + PostgreSQL
PowerShell scripting (must) — automation + monitoring tuning to reduce false alarms
Strong implementation knowledge on SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
Ensure backups meet business RPO
Test backups to meet business RTO
Troubleshoot DB service outages (including after-hours/weekends)
HA decisions for new systems: clustering, log shipping, mirroring, SQL Azure, Always On
HA knowledge: Oracle Data Guard, GoldenGate, Always On, SQL Azure
Install/configure SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle
Deploy DB change scripts from third-party vendors
SQL Server migration experience (older → newer versions)
Cross-platform migration exposure:
Oracle → SQL
Oracle → DB2
MySQL → PostgreSQL
Good-to-Have (Gets You Picked Faster)
Experience designing/configuring SQL instances
Strong experience maintaining SQL 2016/2019 HA environments
Hands-on on-prem to Azure SQL Server migration (highly desirable)
