This is for hands-on OTOBO / OTRS developers who customize the core, build packages, migrate legacy systems, and keep million-ticket platforms fast, stable, and scalable.

🎯 WHAT YOU’LL OWN
You’ll lead the design, customization, extension, and optimization of large-scale OTOBO / OTRS environments used in real production — not demos.
This role gives you technical authority, not ticket babysitting.
🔥 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead customization & extension of OTOBO / OTRS
(OTRS 8/10/11, OTOBO 10/11 forks)Develop custom packages, Perl modules, GenericAgent jobs, ACLs, Dynamic Fields, Process Management & ITSM modules
Perform deep core customizations using safe override techniques
Build front-end enhancements using JavaScript, jQuery, DTL (Designer Template Language)
Develop & consume REST / SOAP APIs for ERP, CRM, CMDB, monitoring tools
Implement & customize ITSM modules:
Incident
Problem
Change
Service Asset & Configuration Management (CMDB)
Service Catalog
Migrate legacy OTRS → latest OTOBO, preserving custom logic
Tune performance & databases (MySQL / MariaDB / PostgreSQL) for high-volume ticket systems (1M+ tickets)
Collaborate on HA setups, clustering, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch integration
Write technical documentation, deployment scripts, unit & integration tests
🧠 MANDATORY EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
✔ 3–4+ years hands-on OTOBO / OTRS development (portfolio or references required)
✔ Expert-level Perl (OTOBO / OTRS architecture & internals)
✔ Strong experience with:
OTOBO / OTRS framework internals
SQL & database design (MySQL / MariaDB / PostgreSQL)
JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery
✔ REST API integrations, LDAP / Active Directory, SSO (SAML / OAuth)
✔ Deep understanding of ITIL / ITSM processes mapped to OTOBO modules
✔ Git & CI/CD pipelines for OTOBO deployments
⭐ STRONG ADVANTAGE
Contributions to OTOBO or legacy OTRS GitHub repositories
Experience with Znuny, ((OTRS)) Community Edition, or other forks
Elasticsearch / OpenSearch for search & reporting
Large-scale production troubleshooting
