🧾 Job Summary

Join Basis Bay Group as a Senior IBM AS400 Engineer and take ownership of mission-critical hardware and system support. You'll provide hands-on support for AS400 infrastructure, administer system health checks, and manage maintenance for enterprise-grade environments.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Provide hardware and basic software support for IBM AS400 systems

• Maintain, upgrade, or replace AS400 hardware as required

• Troubleshoot system errors and coordinate onsite interventions

• Conduct system health checks, OS upgrades, and critical patch applications

• Manage iSeries environments, including BRMS backup solutions

• Assist in hardware installation and integration with storage systems (Flash Systems, V7000, V9000 & DS8000)

• Collaborate with vendors for project execution and technical escalations

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of ad-hoc technical requests

✅ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related discipline

• 5+ years in AS400 hardware/system engineering

• Hands-on experience with AS400 system admin (minimum 3 years)

• Exposure to Power7–10 tech refresh upgrades

• Familiar with backup/recovery tools: BRMS, Tivoli, etc.

• Experience in Unix and Windows environments

• Strong problem-solving skills and team-first mindset

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

• Immediate or short-notice availability preferred
