This role is for an Oracle performance specialist who proactively finds bottlenecks, proves it with data (AWR/DB Time/waits), and drives real optimizations across app + infrastructure teams.
We are NOT looking for a reactive, standard DBA admin.
We want the person who prevents the outage before it happens.

The Opportunity
You’ll support a large-scale banking/asset servicing technology ecosystem running “follow-the-sun” operations.
Your impact is measurable:
faster batch windows
stable performance under load
fewer incidents
stronger architecture decisions (storage, backup/restore, DR)
What You’ll Be Doing
Participate in infrastructure projects and co-define target Oracle-based architecture
factor storage constraints: performance, backup/restore, regulatory, DR
support performance testing during project delivery
Proactively analyze PROD database activity and drive recommendations (app + infra)
monitor DBs and propose short/mid/long-term optimizations
support teams to implement and validate improvements
typical work includes:
review AWR, DB Time, Buffer Gets, Disk Reads, wait events
tune top SQL, stabilize plan changes, index cleanup
review configuration standards and performance baselines
Provide deep Oracle expertise when application/infrastructure optimizations are being executed
What You Must Bring (Non-Negotiable)
✅ 9+ years relevant experience in Oracle performance engineering
✅ Strong expertise in Oracle 19c + Active Data Guard
✅ Oracle Enterprise Manager (including v11/v12 remnants)
✅ Oracle Streams exposure
✅ Cross-platform experience:
SPARC + Solaris 11 (current)
IBM Power10 + AIX 7.2/7.3 (target)
x86 + Red Hat Linux
✅ PostgreSQL exposure
✅ Schedulers: VTOM and TWS
✅ Mindset and soft skills that matter:autonomy + proactivity
strong listening and advisory skills
