We’re looking for an experienced Level 3 Storage Engineer who’s mastered IBM Storage Virtualization Controller (SVC) and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) / Spectrum Protect.
This is a hands-on, enterprise-level role managing, optimizing, and architecting storage and backup environments that businesses depend on every day.

🔧 What You’ll Do

Storage Infrastructure Management

• Administer and support IBM SVC storage virtualization environments for peak performance.

• Manage SAN zoning, multipathing, and provisioning for AIX, IBM i, Linux, and Windows servers.

• Perform firmware upgrades, configuration changes, and cluster health checks.

Backup & Recovery Management (TSM/Spectrum Protect)

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery using IBM TSM.

• Define and manage backup policies, DR plans, and retention schedules.

• Execute restores, recovery tests, and performance tuning.

Level 3 Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide advanced incident and problem management for critical issues.

• Lead root-cause analysis, develop preventive actions, and work with IBM support.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide escalation-level expertise.

Design & Architecture

• Contribute to storage architecture design, migration, and consolidation projects.

• Assess emerging technologies and recommend performance and capacity improvements.

Operational Excellence

• Maintain detailed documentation and compliance with security and audit standards.

• Lead capacity planning, reporting, and lifecycle management initiatives.

🧠 What You Bring

✔ 7–10 years of experience in storage and backup administration
✔ 5+ years direct experience with IBM SVC & IBM TSM / Spectrum Protect
✔ Deep knowledge of SAN technologies (Brocade/Cisco)
✔ Hands-on with disk, tape, and VTL systems
✔ Advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
✔ Proven track record with enterprise migrations & transformation projects

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with cloud-integrated storage/backup

• Familiarity with IBM FlashSystem, Storwize, DS8000

• Scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Shell for automation

🎓 Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field

• IBM Certified Specialist/Expert in SVC or Spectrum Protect preferred

• ITIL v4 Foundation certification is an advantage
